September 30 we released the bear cubs from Vologda region. The cubs were released together with specialists from the Vologda Department for Protection, Control and Regulation of the of Wildlife Objects Use into the Chagodoshchensky State Natural Landscape Reserve with a typical natural complex for the south-west of the Vologda Region with various types of forest and swamps.

Venya and Vesta came to us when they were not even a month old - their eyes were not opened and they weighed only 1.4 and 1.6 kg. They became orphaned due to logging operations, which frightened off the den their mother. By the release time Venya and Vesta gained good weight - 32 and 34 kg. Transportation to the release site in their home region, which took more than 10 hours, was without complications, but the long journey tired the cubs, and they did not actively escape into the forest.

We hope that Venya and Vesta will have a long and peaceful life in the forests of their home region.
