Black and Pskovushka were the second bear cubs who "pulled out" the ticket for the release. The bears were delivered to OBRC in February from the Pskov region.
The bear cubs successfully passed the health check. Black, who differed so much from the other cubs by his size, reached the record – he gained 45 kg! Pskovushka – about 35 kg, what is also enough for survival.
And only few months ago they weighted only 2 kg. They even could not stand on their paws and were helpless, but already with the characters!
Black was delivered to OBRC in the beginning of February. His eyes were still closed, and it means that he was less than 1 month old. He became orphaned due to the logging: tractor driver while logging noticed the bear running away… We know that most of you feel a tenderness to this adorable teddy bear with its dark fur with bright spots and funny big ears! Due to these differences, it was very ease to identify Black from the other bear cubs, even when all the cubs grew up, changed a lot, and the white spots began to disappear.
Pskovushka – we delivered small female to OBRC in the end of February. Her mother was scared from the den by the dogs during the legal hunting for ungulates. Fortunately, people heard the voices of an animal, found a den and took the baby bear. Pskovushka was one of the biggest bear cubs and differed from the others by very light fur on her head with dark "glasses" around her ears and eyes, what made her look more expressive and heart touching.
We hope that long successful life expects the bears in their natural home – in the forests of the region where they were born.
