Let us remind you the stories of these four bears:
Dasha & Danya: At the end of January we delivered siblings – Dasha and Danya. According to people who found the cubs, while walking through the forest, they heard the voices of animals and found a den, abandoned by a bear. The den was a little flooded with water, and there were two cub. How many time the bear cubs spent in the den without a bear is unknown. But in few days the condition of the bear cubs caused serious concern - signs of pneumonia. And we immediately began the treatment.
Moisey: The lack of snow this year maked the winter shelters of bears in the forest more vulnerable, especially for mother bears with cubs: in snowy winters dens are carefully hidden from the human eyes, and it's more difficult to get into the forest thickets in the snow. But this winter you can walk through the forest without any problems and accidentally disturb the bear.
So it happened with Moisey: a state inspector in the field of environmental protection of the Novgorod region while the patrolling the forest area, bypassing a huge felled tree root, met a bear face to face. The bear tried to scare a person by making a couple of throws in his direction, but eventually ran away. There was a squeak in the den – orphan bear cub... The inspector made the only right decision: he took the baby bear and, holding it in his bosom, quickly got to the house, where it was warm, which is so necessary for bear babies at this age.
So, one more bear cub appeared at our Center, who was less than 1 month old. Fortunately, Moisey did not stay at the den long, that's why no health problems appeared.
Nelushka: A lonely bear cub was registered close to the village in the Novgorod region. Due to the threat of death of the animal, that was left without a mother at so young age Novgorod Region Committee for Hunting and Fisheries made a decision to catch the cub and handle him to our Center. It was female and we named her Nelushka. The small bear weighted only 4 kg, but she had good appetite and no problems with her health occurred.
Fortunately, all these three cases ended well! Four bear cubs grow up and became healthy and well-developed bears, what is so important for independent life in the wild.
