THE FOURTEENTH…
May 6 late evening we brought another bear cub, which, for unknown reasons, was left without a mother and without a chance to sirvive. According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Kirov Region, they "received information that near the village of Khmelevka, Nolinsky District, a lone bear cub came out to people."
Specialists of the subordinate institution "Center for the Wildlife Protection and Use" of the Kirov Region promptly left for the place, who examined the adjacent territory for the presence of a mother bear. Unfortunately, no traces of vital activities of an adult animal were found. In order to save the life and health of the animal, the only right decision in this case was made on - the forced taking out of the bear cub from the habitat.

While we were on the way, specialists from the Center of Wildlife Protection and Use organized a veterinary examination of the bear cub, prepared and received all the necessary documents and approvals, and May 6 came to meet us so that we could return to the Center with the bear cub as quickly as possible.
The initial examination did not show any injuries, but the bear baby is very thin – nobody knows how long he wandered through the forest alone, until he went out to his luck to people...
We called this bear cub the Hedgehog - his fur is very funny, disheveled, just like hedgehog thorns, and his temper is wild, i.e. "prickly".
