The forest school: the Senior and younger groups
Soon the cubs will have one of the most important moments in life - the first steps towards the forest
Due the beginning of April the bear cubs are ready to be moved to the den-house located in the large enclosures built in the woods. The timing is associated with natural reasons as this is the period when a wild mother brown bear leads her cubs away from a den for the first time.
We divided the bear cubs into two groups: Senior and Younger. At the Enclosure 1 the Senior group the bigger cubs would be kept: Pskovushka, Vesta, Venya, Danya, Masha, Buyan, Baloo and Bonya.
The Younger group consists of the smallest cubs: Karel and Kuzya, Dasha, Moisey and Black. Very soon Lala, Lyoha, Mirnyi and Nelushka, the cubs delivered to OBRC at April, will be united with them. To make the both groups "equal" we will remove Dasha from the Younger group to the Senior group, where her brother Danya is kept.

A very important event in live of the cubs will happen very soon – the first walking outside, where they will try feeding on the food that is normally consumed by their wild counterparts, explore the surrounding forest areas, and hide in the den-house in the periods of inclement weather.
At first, till the nights will not become warm, every evening we will close the doors of the den-house and open them every morning in order the cubs can independently during the day go out for a walk, or come back to their new shelter for sleeping after the lunch, or if the weather is bad. But in time, when the baby bears will become a little bit bigger, and nights will be warmer, the doors of the den-house will be opened all the day, thus the cubs will independently go out or rest inside.
